The LogTag ST100B external sensor is a sensor without a stainless steel casing. Therefore the sensor is not suitable for contact with foodstuffs.

The main advantage of the external sensor is that you can measure in places where a data logger cannot survive, for example in a liquid. If you place a data logger in a liquid, then there is a good chance that it will break down. By placing the external sensor in the liquid, you can continue to measure the temperature in the liquid.
